BMW motor cycle Question, Charger and Battery

Here is another great Q & A from Batteries Direct.

Hi Batteries Direct.
I've got a BMW motor bike and need a new battery. I'd like to get a trickle charger as well.
I don't ride the bike as much as I'd like to and when I do want to start it the battery is
too low to crank the motor over.
(I think the clock is drawing power) Is there any way of charging by the cigarette socket?
I look forward to your prompt reply.
Helmut M.

Hi Helmut,
We've helped alot of BMW owners with similar issues.
First, we need to identify the right battery
It would be a part number like 51814 , 53030 or 51913 for example.
There is a CTEK charger accessory that can plug into your Cigarette lighter outlet. It can be used with a CTEK XS800.
Just check if the socket has power when you ignition is turned off.
There is also a video you can look at for Ctek chargers on our Youtube site.
